DealOgre.com helps people find the best deals, products, coupons, discounts and promotions for the most popular items and from the best online retailers. The information is aggregated from many online sources and presented in the format that is easy to use and navigate.

You can either browse or search for the deals. On the main home page you can browse through most popular deals or use the infinite scroll to see the newest deals in the chronological order.

You can move the mouse over any item’s title and if a preview is available, it will appear below the title. Clicking on the item will open a view window with the full description from the source where the item was posted.

The view window also lets you email the item, bookmark the item, or report a problem with the item. In addition, you can close the view window, email or maximize it by using buttons in the upper right corner.

Note: Maximizing the item will open source page, where the item was originally posted. If the source is not DealOgre.com, you will be taken to another page. To return to the DealOgre.com, use the Browser’s Back button or type dealogre.com in the address bar.

Opening main internet address http://www.dealogre.com will bring you to the home page. To go to the home page, at any time during browsing on the site, either click on the Logo (top left) or the home link (top left).

WHAT CAN I DO ON THE HOME PAGE?

On the home page you can do several things, such as: browse the top 10 most popular items, view the newest deals, preview information, search for the deals or add new deals that you want to share with the world or store in the site for personal use later on.

The newest items are ordered by the time they were posted, in the center table. This table features an infinity scroll, which means that you will see more items as you scroll to the end, using the scroll bar.

Hint 1: Try it, its very addictive, just scroll to the very end and see more items appear on the bottom, and then scroll again, and again… The total number of items currently in the scroll area will appear on the bottom of the page.

Hint 2: Move your mouse over any item that interest you to see a preview if it is available.

The DealOgre.com will search in the item’s title and the text body for the words matching your query, and will highlight the matched words. You can search for any deal, item, store, promotion, discount or product simply by typing in your query into the search box and pressing the enter key or clicking on the arrow button.

To maximize the potential of your search you can use more advanced techniques:

• Searches which contain only common words such as “hot deal” or “free shipping” are likely to contain too many outdated deals. Try to combine common words with the specific item name or store name. Ex. belkin free shipping

• Indicate that some words should not be in the result, by using the (-) sign. For instance: Search for “ipod –white” will only return all deals where “ipod” appears but “white” do NOT appear.

• Indicate that some words are required and must appear in the result, by using the (+) sign. For instance: +ipod +white will return only results were both words are present.

• If search does not return any results, changing the search query, using fewer words, or changing words for their synonyms can improve results as well. You can also try the search again later, new deals are added all the time and you may find better or more matches later on.

For example, using fewer words gets more results:

If search returns more then 50 results, you can navigate to the next 50 by using page navigation link on the bottom of the page results screen.

So you just found out about a new fantastic deal and want to share it with the world, your friends, or aunt in Florida? Or even store it for reference to use later on.

Adding new deals, items or promotions is easy, but please follow these general guidelines. To add a new deal, click the link in the upper left top corner of any page.

To get helpful tips about fields or options, move your mouse over small blue text on the page.

Be as descriptive as possible in the title:

Cheap diamond ring – is a bad title
1ct. princess cut white gold diamond ring from zales.com – is a much better title

Enter full description, expiration date (if known) and type in the random code that appears.  The random code is a security feature to prevent automatic submissions.

Tip: If you know the expiration date of the deal, enter it using the Calendar chooser (). By default deals without expiration will expire in two month. It you don’t know the expiration date, but want the deal to remain on the site longer then two month, chooses a far date in the future.

With the rich text editor you can edit and your text and add formatting and styles to it. To apply formatting, first type in the text, select it with your mouse or keyboard and either choose font, font size or click on the appropriate style.

By default pressing enter key starts a new paragraph, if you simply want to go to the new line press Shift and Enter keys simultaneously (Shift+Enter)  

You can add links and images to the text by clicking on the Link or Image buttons
To clear formatting, first select the text with you mouse or keyboard and then clink on the eraser button

If you want to email a specific deal, you will need to open the deal’s full description by clicking on the row in the table. The view windows will have a toolbar with an option to email the deal.

Alternately, you can use the email button in the top right corner of the view window.

Tip: You can specify up to 5 email recipients separated by comma.

Sometimes the deals listed on the site will be outdated or incomplete. The deal address may expire. If you find a problematic or inappropriate deal please report a problem with is and it will be automatically de-listed for stuff review.

To report a problem with the specific deal, you need to open the deal full description by clicking on the row in the table. The view windows will have a toolbar with an option to report a problem.

Any personal information you submit will not be stored. And will only be used in response or resolution of the problem if need be.
